1. Idea

A unimodular integral lattice in 24\mathbb{R}^{24}. Related to the monster group.

2. Properties

It is the unique unimodular rank 2424 lattice with minimum norm greater than 22. The minimum norm is 44.

It is equivalent to the sum Λ 23A 1\Lambda_{23} \oplus A_1, where Λ 23\Lambda_{23} is a rank 2323 lattice with minimum norm of 33, called the shorter Leech lattice (Conway & Sloane 82).
