Michael G. Barratt, Professor of Mathematics from 1974-99 at the Northwestern University, Illinois, and Professor of Pure Mathematics from 1964-74 at the University of Manchester. He was a student of Henry Whitehead. His research interests were in algebraic topology.

His students included Ronnie Brown and Peter Eccles.
