nLab massive Yang-Mills theory




While Yang-Mills theory with a fundamental mass-term (as opposed to a dynamical mass via a Higgs mechanism) cannot be both renormalizable and unitary (Delbourgo, Twisk & Thompson 1988), it does appear in certain effective field theories, notably in quantum hadrodynamics.
