# nLab parity

The term parity means different things in different contexts:

## In superalgebra

In discussion of homological superalgebra, parity refers to the total $\mathbb{Z}/2$-grading which in Bernstein’s convention controls the sign rule. See at chain complex of super vector spaces the remark on parity.
