Idea

In solid state physics, Landaus’ Fermi liquid theory is perturbative theory of metals regarded as seas of fermions.

The model is highly successful, given its simplistic assumptions, for ordinary metals, but fails for materials with non-perturbative topological order thus known as strange metals. These are instead described by the AdS/CFT correspondence in condensed matter physics.
