The G-symmetric monoidal envelope is to G-∞-operads/G-symmetric monoidal ∞-categories as the symmetric monoidal envelope is to ∞-operads/symmetric monoidal ∞-categories. In particular, it is the left adjoint to the canonical inclusion of G-symmetric monoidal ∞-categories into G-∞-operads.
