In foundations of quantum mechanics, the Pusey-Barrett-Rudolph theorem is a no-go theorem which puts metaphysical requirements on any ψ-epistemic interpretation of quantum mechanics. Specifically, models of quantum theory may not simultaneously be ψ-epistemic and also preparation independent.
