Gopakumar–Vafa duality is a duality in string theory between perturbative 3d Chern-Simons Wilson loop observables (Vassiliev link invariants) and relative Gromov–Witten invariants of a 6–dimensional symplectic manifold relative to a Lagrangian submanifold.
