Idea

The D-brane of dimension 3+13+1 in type IIB string theory.

Properties

For small string coupling its worldvolume theory is super Yang-Mills theory. At strong coupling it forms a black brane solution of type II supergravity with near horizon anti de Sitter spacetime geometry AdS 5AdS_5. The relation between the two description in the AdS5/CFT4-correspondence.
