Idea,

For kk a field and nn a natural number, the special linear Lie algebra 𝔰𝔩(n,k)\mathfrak{sl}(n,k) is the Lie algebra of trace-free n×nn\times n-matrices with entries in kk, with Lie bracket being the commutator of matrix multiplication.
