Idea

An Eberlein compactum is a compact topological space homeomorphic to a subspace of a Banach space in the weak topology.

Examples

Every compact metrizable space is an Eberlein compactum, as is the one-point compactification of any locally compact metric space, while the converse does not generally hold.
