What is called massive type IIA supergravity or Romans supergravity (due to Romans 86) is a deformation of plain type IIA supergravity in which the B-field acquires a mass-term.
The lift of Romans supergravity to to string theory is known as massive type IIA string theory, where the mass term is identified with the RR-field flux form of degree 0 (or of degree 10 by Hodge duality) which reflects the presence of D8-branes.
The mass term makes Romans supergravity have black brane-solutions corresponding to D8-branes
(Bergshoess-de Roo-Green-Papadopoulos-Townsend 96, Chamblin-Perry 97, Janssen-Meessen-Ortin 99)
and to D6-D8-brane bound states (Singh 02a, Singh 02b)
