Like a Riemannian manifold is a smooth manifold equipped with a Riemannian metric, a pseudo-Riemannian manifold is a manifold equipped with a pseudo-Riemannian metric. Lorentzian manifolds, as well as Riemannian manifolds themselves, are special cases of pseudo-Riemannian manifolds.
