Idea

A D-meson is a light meson including a charm quark, hence a bound state of a charm quark with either of an up quark, down quark or strange quark.

The class of D-mesons goes alongside that of K-mesons (light mesons with a strange quark) and B-mesons (mesons with a bottom quark),
